About this Series

The intent is to produce an on-going (cathartic) personal narrative. Each work in this series is an assemblage of motifs that develop spontaneously: thought, memory, stroke, text and color, urge and play off each other in a decidedly stream of consciousness manner.

Collectively, these relate to a wide range of references that can be as disparate as 50’s Neo-Realist films, England’s Lake District art and poetic history, the architecture and writings of classical Greece and Rome to the industrial/natural/urban settings of post WWII Chicago–all filtered through the lens of memory, imagination and childhood experience.
